I have been working in the rehearsal studio (and recording studio) like a person possessed: I am now currently in the midst of three separate band projects (four, if you count the solo acoustic stuff that I do sporadically). I am writing new material at a feverish pace and have been experimenting with tones and concepts that are pretty far beyond my usual scope. It is all very exciting and tiring at the same time. I hope to have some new material up on the site soon (there are plenty of new things recorded but nothing really ready for public consumption).

Today I added some lyrics for the finished songs with one of the band projects. The album is based on a continuous theme that will be present throughout the entirety of the record. It will all make sense when it ties together.

Oh, and I survived the hurricane.

Well, the South American Identity Crisis is no more. No, we didn’t split up and the project is far from dead: in fact the exact opposite is true. We just don’t have an official band name at this point. Why is this always happening to music projects I am involved in?! I actually enjoy coming up with ridiculous band names more than actually settling on an idea for the group, so who knows what will happen.

We have recently recruited the amazing services of Matt Olsson on drums and have been writing at a feverish pace. Whatever we are ultimately called, the music we are putting together is really fantastic. We have decided on an overall theme for the concept record, something I am sure I will write about here more in the future. We have about three tracks (and they are quite lengthy and complicated) completed so far. Keep checking back here for updates as time goes by.
